Methyl ethyl ketone and methyl isobutyl ketone not carcinogenic.
Methyl Ethyl Ketone and Methyl Isobutyl Ketone Not Carcinogenic The April 22, 1993, issue of Environmental Health Perspectives contained a commentary by Legator and Strawn entitled "Public Health Policies Regarding Hazardous Waste Sites and Cigarette Smoking: An Argument by Analogy." Although the article does not include any discussion of either methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) or methyl isobutyl keto...
متن کاملTeratogenicity of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) in mice.
Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) were mixed with diet at graded levels of 0.05, 0.1, 0.2. 0.4 and 1.0 wt-% and given to pregnant ICR mice throughout gestation. Maternal weight gain was suppressed and fetal resorption increased at 0.2, 0.4 and 1.0% levels of DEHP and 1.0% level of DBP. All the implanted ova died early in rats fed 0.4 and 1.0% levels of DEHP. Exter...
متن کاملThyroid Disruption by Di-n-Butyl Phthalate (DBP) and Mono-n-Butyl Phthalate (MBP) in Xenopus laevis
BACKGROUND Di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), a chemical widely used in many consumer products, is estrogenic and capable of producing seriously reproductive and developmental effects in laboratory animals. However, recent in vitro studies have shown that DBP and mono-n-butyl phthalate (MBP), the major metabolite of DBP, possessed thyroid hormone receptor (TR) antagonist activity. It is therefore impo...
متن کاملBiofiltration for the Removal of Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK)
The biological treatment processes found wide applications in wastewater, air & solid waste pollution control. The need for alternate cost effective treatment technologies led to similar biological treatment processes for waste gas streams. One such treatment technology is biofiltration. Biofiltration technology utilizes the microorganisms to biologically degrade Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC...
